Fees

Here you will find more information about our fees:

Good advice and efficient representation in court require fair remuneration. Determining the amount in advance is not easy, because the course of proceedings is often unpredictable. Clear agreements about these costs can nevertheless be made.

The rates for general and case-related costs are communicated to you at the start of the proceedings. They consist of:

  • administrative costs, covering correspondence (by post and e-mail), telephone calls and the like;
  • travel costs per kilometre;
  • court costs, such as court registry fees and the costs of bailiffs, experts, attachments and notaries. At our firm, clients are usually asked to pay these directly to the court, bailiff, notary or expert concerned, so that full transparency is guaranteed.

The actual fee is either agreed in advance or charged at an hourly rate.

During the proceedings, advance payments on costs and fees are requested on a regular basis. This way you always keep a clear overview of the financial side of your case and you will not face unpleasant surprises when your case is closed.

You may also be eligible for the appointment of a pro bono lawyer (second-line legal aid, “pro deo”), in which case the fee is borne by the Belgian State. You can always obtain more information about this from the firm, free of obligation.
